This past year, Michigan celebrated it’s inaugural festival with quite a debut. Put on by Madison House Productions of Boulder, Colo. and AEG Live , ROTHBURY was a festival designed to create 0% waste. Amazing huh?! Well – striving to find ways of making it as waste free as possible.

I had quite a time representing both Roving Festival Writer, LLC and WEMU 89.1, and part of my audio coverage was a series of interviews with some of the greatest musicians around.

I had the AWESOME opportunity to chat with Derek Trucks, a guitar legend of my generation. Growing as a music enthusiast, I am always astonished at the growth Derek undertakes each round of touring. A slide guitarist that can alternate instruments with the best of them, while knowing how to softly take place with Robert Cray’s backing band for acts like Eric Clapton and Steve Winwood.
