I’ve worn the hats of several roles which have contributed toward cultural landscapes surrounding music. Ranging from ordinary, household fan to radio host for a NPR affiliate (aka major fan), I’ve worked as a photographer for magazines, danced alongside Michael Franti and sweated like an addict during withdrawal in a Purple Teletubby outfit with the Flaming Lips. I took Patron shots next to DJ AM and his laptop during the peak of his career, and even drank too much with Matt Costa in London, Canada after he opened for Bedouin Soundclash. My greatest badge of honor awarded is the blue bandanna of Mr. Scott Avett who was appreciative of my photo pit, mud-stomping dance during a devastatingly bad Avett Brothers set.
I have seen some crazy things in my 25 years on this planet; moreover, by co-creating TheRFW.com, one of the greatest joys has been providing a platform for talented writers, photographers, musicians and characters to contribute and communicate with the masses. With my “15sec FAME” blog, I‘ll be dishing out album reviews, performance recaps, interviews with other bloggers and musicians, as well as keeping you abreast of what’s happening in the music industry. A lot of change is going down, if you haven’t noticed. With this blog, you can remain informed, connected and engaged with the constantly growing and evolving support network of material and communities available for everyone from new fans to established musicians.
Right now, we’re developing this little blog into a low budget show for our RFWtv network, and I’m really proud about that. We’ve been doing festival documentaries for years now, and with the launch of our latest “New Danger” program, we can connect outside of festival grounds with touring musicians. So this new show will be something that speaks right to you, wherever I am, straight from my computer. We’re even going to start live streaming the show to open it up to as many people possible. But that’s all in time, young Padawan.
