Co-Created in 2005, Benjamin Landsman and Rashon A. Massey set out to begin a music publication that was strictly aimed at the emerging, underrated talent of today’s music industry. Benjamin and Rashon saw a wonderful opportunity to look beyond mainstream related music and highlight promising talent featured at music festivals.
Roving Festival Writer, LLC (TheRFW.com) has developed into a companion for the concert attendee with trusted material including interviews, reviews and first-hand experiences documented from the ground up. Serving both as a press extension for the core audience, as well as providing partnership, sponsor and advertising opportunities for like-minded brands interested in reaching those targeted demographics, TheRFW.com continues to serve as a tool working to improve the relationship between fans and live music events.
An idea during the inception of TheRFW.com was to find ways to grow while maintaining a green publication – one day, offsetting carbon emissions from travel and constricting office use to recyclable materials when possible. Motivated by the actions of industry friends such as Rock ‘n Renew, Bonnaroo Music & Arts Festival, STS9, Michael Franti, Brushfire Records and Madison House Productions, TheRFW.com has integrated video, audio and still photography into their coverage; moreover, with the help of future sponsors and partners, will continue to enhance the user experience, minimizing the use of as many harmful environmental agents as possible.
