DM Stith remix “Ice & The Storm” from Shark Remixes

Shara Worden has had more than a nice share of success on the indie circuit.  Most notably known as a singer/songwriter, the force behind My Brightest Diamond is set to release a remix album Shark Remixes, a renewed and re-imagined vision of the bands 2008 sophomore release A Thousand Shark’s Teeth.

In support of the remix album release, which drops in just a few days on January 26th, Shara is playing a show at the Bowery in New York on the 22nd.  A special performance from the Asthmatic Kitty artist, the musically eclectic sounds of the forthcoming release are no surprise when taking in consideration her upbringing in a home of talented instrumentalist.  Giving foundation to her inclination towards genres of jazz and gospel, she wrote her first song at the age of 3, and if you don’t catch this engagement on the 22nd, you’ll have to wait until March 28 when she shares a solo performance at the Big Ears Festival in Knoxville, TN.

Having toured alongside in support of The Decemberists (with television appearances on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, Craig Ferguson and Steven Colbert), her vocals have been finely tuned for years collaborating with Sufjan Stevens, David Byrne and with her Brightest Diamond cohorts Brian Wolfe (drummer) and Nathan Lithgow (bassist).  Since her initial recorded release in 1997, the musician has continued to find home in an inventive sound, truly making an impact within the indie rock community.
